Diabetes Risk Score Calculator

Evaluate your risk score for Type 2 Diabetes using clinically validated ADA (US) and FINDRISC (Finnish) models. Screens for Type 1 / LADA autoimmune warning signs, and maternal Gestational Diabetes risk factors.

Understanding Diabetes Types & Screening Models

Diabetes Mellitus describes metabolic disorders characterized by persistent high blood sugar levels. Early screening and preventive strategies can completely delay or prevent Type 2 Diabetes onset, and provide life-saving pathways for acute Type 1 or Gestational Diabetes cases.

Clinical Assessment Types

  • Type 2 Diabetes (ADA & FINDRISC): Type 2 is primarily driven by insulin resistance associated with age, obesity, visceral abdominal fat (waist circumference), and inactivity. Screening scores assess these factors to alert high-risk individuals for HbA1c testing.
  • Type 1 Diabetes & LADA: Autoimmune destruction of pancreatic beta cells leads to absolute insulin deficiency. It is NOT linked to lifestyle or weight. Warning indicators include rapid weight loss, polyuria (excessive urination), polydipsia (excessive thirst), and require immediate laboratory autoantibody evaluations.
  • Gestational Diabetes (GDM): Manifests specifically during pregnancy due to hormonal insulin antagonism. Screening identifies mothers needing oral glucose tolerance tests (OGTT).
