How is Chronological Age Calculated?

Chronological age measures the exact duration of time passed from date of birth to a target assessment date. To determine this precisely, calendar boundaries must account for variable month lengths (e.g. 28, 29, 30, or 31 days) and leap years. If a child is born on January 31 and evaluated on February 28, the calculation borrows the number of days from the previous month to display the accurate month difference.
